Amcat - Receives "Product of the Year" Award for 2005

Amcat have announced that Technology Marketing Corporations Customer Inter@ction Solutions® magazine has named Amcat's Enterprise Edition as recipient of the 2005 Product of the Year Award.

The Enterprise Edition is a new version of Amcat's highly scalable Contact Centre Suite designed for larger enterprise and multi-site contact centres. The product seamlessly integrates remote or distributed contact centres into a centrally managed, networked operation, thereby reducing operating costs such as local support and campaign management. By using Microsoft clustering technology, the Enterprise edition also provides an enhanced level of resilience reducing single points-of-failure.

"We're pleased to be named Product of the Year," said Dudley Larus, vice president of marketing for Amcat. "Our Enterprise Edition is demonstrating its value for our distributed and campus environment customers around the world by improving centralised management controls which help reduce redundant operating costs. Additionally, Enterprise Edition includes new fault-tolerant technologies that improve business continuity capabilities. Enterprise Edition comes at the right time to meet the increased demands of reliability and up-time for distributed call centre environments and to improve operational consistency in a time of natural and man-made disasters."

The new Amcat system provides customers with additional resilience and further reduction of downtime from hardware. Amcat is incorporating the latest Microsoft clustering technology so that if a contact centre software service is affected by power or hardware failures, another available service takes over in the distributed system. This capability reduces single points of failure, possible downtime from hardware failure and increases the overall reliability and redundancy in the enterprise contact centre. This can have a significantly positive impact on operations.

An additional focus of the new Amcat system is support for Oracle's Real Application Clusters (RAC). Oracle RAC is a cluster database with a shared cache architecture that overcomes the limitations of traditional shared-nothing and shared-disk approaches to provide highly scalable and available database solutions for business applications.

"Each year Customer Inter@ction Solutions magazine bestows its Product of the Year awards on companies that have demonstrated excellence in technological advancement and application refinements. Amcat has demonstrated to the editors of Customer Inter@ction Solutions that its products and services have gone the extra mile to help improve both the customer experience and the ROI for the companies that use them," said Nadji Tehrani, Executive Group Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Customer Inter@ction Solutions.

The Product of the Year Award winners for 2005 will be highlighted in the January and February 2006 issues of Customer Inter@ction Solutions magazine.
