ClearContact set to expand Liverpool based contact centre

A contact centre set up in Liverpool less than four years ago is likely to have an almost six-fold increase in jobs over the next year.

Clear Contact Marketing currently employs 35 staff at its Queen’s Dock commercial centre offices but it is poised to relocate to bigger premises at the end of January which will immediately create 37 additional positions.

Co-founder Tony Burns said they are on course to reach 200 jobs within a year. He and business partner Gary Welburn started the firm with three staff in May 2004 after they were made redundant as regional sales managers at the call centre they worked for.

Their expansion to occupy the entire fourth floor at 72 Church Street, Liverpool involves a £500,000 investment in refurbishment and a state-of-the-art telecoms system.

Mr Burns said: “There is a lot more IT to the business now, compared with our paper-based office in Queen’s Dock.”

As part of a six-year business plan, the partners expect to invest more than £2.4m in their new operation over the next three years. They estimate that their new office can accommodate a workforce of up to 300.

There are three arms to the company: a call centre promoting customer products to the general public; a telecoms company providing bespoke communication solutions for businesses; and a marketing company which organises events for companies to get their message out to other businesses in the Merseyside area.

Mr Burns said: “We deal with a lot of the legal community in Liverpool and some of the biggest firms in Liverpool and we work with some national companies on the telecoms part of our business as well as a couple of local authorities .
