Staff cuts announced at its at Berkshire based contact centre

Contact centre staff at RBS' the troubled banking giant's Berkshire based Customer Service Centre have been advised that 141 jobs will go in September.

RBS have decided not to renewal the lease on the building when it expires in September with the operation being transferred  to its Swindon or Farnborough operations.

Linda Harper, RBS spokeswoman commented,  “In 2009 we announced that we would be cutting 4,500 roles in the UK over the next two years in our business services division and that we would work through a process with staff at all affected locations as we determined the local impact of this.

“It is our firm intention to do everything we can to support staff and to ensure that that they are given every opportunity to consider opportunities for redeployment and to avoid compulsory redundancy.”
