Jobs set to go at Glasgow contact centre

After a 54% reduction in Government funding, Glasgow based Contact Centre The Student Loan Company has reported that jobs will be lost in an effort to cut costs.

As time of posting it is unclear how many of the expected 200 jobs losses will be contact centre agents, it is expected that agents will bear the brunt of the job losses although management at SLC have maintained that service level will be unaffected.

In a statement SLC Chief Executive Ralph Seymour-Jackson commented, “I want to reassure our customers these changes will not affect front line staff and we will continue to make the improvements needed to deliver a better quality of service to them.”
