As
part of the Virgin Groups 'restructuring plans' it has been
announced that the telecoms company is proposing to close
the Nottingham based contact centre with upon to 150 jobs
being lost.
The
contact centre which handles calls and enquiries from Virgin
Mobiles customers is thought to be considering outsourcing
overseas as part of a cost cutting exercise.
Commenting on the proposed closure Neil Berkett, CEO of
Virgin Media, said: "Although this is a difficult message
for our staff, we felt it only right to share our plans with
them as soon as this proposal had been confirmed".
