RAC - Record call rates recorded
With cold temperatures continuing across the UK and the worst winter weather for 30 years, the request for motoring assistance through the RAC's contact centres have hit record highs.
On Monday 4th January 2010, the first proper 'return to work' day after the Christmas holiday period, the RAC experienced one of their busiest ever days, with over 15,000 breakdowns
In fact, it was the busiest day for the motoring assistance provider since 2003 and at its peak their contact centres were receiving 2,500 calls per hour - that's a call every 1.2 seconds!
Can any other UK contact centre beat that record for this year? - Ed
