Radiant Infosystems - Set to use Indian Prisoners for Outsource work - You Couldn't make it up!

Indian based BPO Radiant Infosystems is set to launch a new scheme, aimed at initially emplying 250 Indian inmates at Hyderabad's Cherlapally Central Jail, to handle some of the company's outsource contracts.
The scheme, which will pay convicts the equivalent of £1.50 per day at the new contact centre, will employ prisoners who are either 'highly-educated' or 'computer-literate' and will assist the convicts in their retraining programmes, workplace skills with the ultimate aim of placement when released.
Radiant have emphasized that there are no security risks to clients and also that Prisoners convicted of either fraud or robbery will not be allowed on the scheme - but in the same statement issued by the company is confirmed that Prisoners convicted of either murder or violent criminals would be eligible (!)
