Lloyds Banking Group - It's good news and bad news on recruitment front

On one hand the Banking giant Lloyds Banking Group announced plans to create new jobs and on the other hand they have also announced job cuts in two of their UK based contact centres.

The Good News - Lloyds' Warrington contact centre is creating 108 news jobs in addition to relocating up to 45 staff from their Chester contact centre.

Warrington South MP David Mowat commented, “I am delighted at today’s announcement from Lloyds Banking Group to create a further 153 jobs in their Warrington Customer Contact Centre. This will make a substantial contribution to the local economy and will help the fight against unemployment.”

The Bad News - Lloyds Premier House contact centre in Chester will see 400 jobs being axed with a further 127 jobs being also axed from other locations within the City.

Claire Barratt, spokesperson for Lloyds Banking Group, said: “The retail call centre in Premier House is actually going from the site. “Some workers will have the opportunity to relocate to our call centres in Speke and Warrington. We will also be recruiting for more jobs at these centres in the near future.”
