RAC - Need Motoring Assistance? - Then call India!

The RAC have announced that it is transferring up to 200 contact centre jobs from its Bristol based contact centre to India as part of rationalisation by its parent company Aviva.

A spokesperson for the RAC said that the work being transferred would be of an administrative nature and that motorists who would need motoring assistance would still be handled by UK based agents.

“Norwich Union has got a long track record in off-shoring contact centre jobs and have a number of Indian contact centres which are proving successful. It is down to cost we have to remain competitive. We have moved other workers to Bristol this year, it’s a question of looking at the skills mix to get the right workers in the right place.”

The RAC Rescue Centre in Bristol employs 975 people, with 420 involved in the contact centre.
