CJ Garlands - Tough financial times for North-East Outsourcer

Leading outsourcer Garlands Call Centres are being hit hard by the recession having recently reported a significant drop in both sales and profits.

The outsourcer, headed up by CEO and Founder Chey Garland CBE, have recorded that sales are down by 10% from £48.5m to £44.3m and more worrying profits have fallen by a massive 75% from £2m to £476,000.

Commenting up the results a Garlands Spokesperson "Sales activity levels have decreased over the previous year due to the cessation of a number of short-term contracts, the slow start-up of a contract directly linked to the UK property market, and a failure to gain the anticipated levels of new business.

"The year-end position of the company is considered satisfactory, with the potential for continued growth."
