Grattan Staff informed of contact centre closure

It has been announced that mail order catalogue company Grattan is to close its Bradford based contact centre with the loss of over 500 staff.

The effected staff were informed that they are to receive notice that their employment will cease on Christmas Eve with Freeman Grattan Holidays.

A Spokesperson for Freeman Grattan Holdings (FGH) advised that from the 517 staff currently employed at the Bradford contact centre will no longer be working there by Christmas Eve.

The closure was originally schedule for June 2009 but following negotiations between management, Staff and Unions this was extended to September and extended again to December to give the company's staff more employment.
